On Saturday our very own ‘Mr Rugby’ Gary Hutchison photographed his 50th consecutive Scotland match as they faced France in Paris.

From the highs of a Calcutta Cup triumph over England and a historic win over the Wallabies down under, to the lows of a heartbreaking World Cup exit in 2015, he’s seen first hand the range of emotions that following Scotland brings.

Here, he’s picked out five stand out moments from the past five years:

Favourite Game:

Scotland v England. Having never experienced us beating the Auld Enemy, it was an incredible day, game and evening to be a part of!

Favourite Location:

Coogee Beach, Sydney. I’ve only once been to Australia, and I was slightly apprehensive as I hate snakes and spiders, but Coogee beach was an amazing location, so laid back and chilled out. The beach was stunning with an hour walk along the coast to Bondi beach a highlight, not to mention the food and coffee!

Favourite Try:

Sean Maitland v England. I remember watching Finn Russell’s pass in real time thinking wow, that was sweet! But to end up scoring off multiple phases at some pace, that was incredible. And what a finish by Sean, it wasn’t in my corner, but I knew I had a colleague covering it, and I just took it all in!

Favourite Experience:

Fiji School visit. This was one of these occasions that I’ll remember forever. Not so much about the rugby, but having an experience where some of the local school kids were able to meet Rugby superstars. The guys were so good with them, playing games, taking selfies and talking to them. A favourite photo from this experience was of Ross Ford, with a group of local kids swarming round him!

Favourite Photo:

Scotland v England. No more has to be said from this occasion, other than the dressing room was lovely afterwards!
